Senior midfielder Noah Molnar and sophomore midfielder Max Satossky shared Pacific Coast League MVP honors for leading the Corona del Mar High boys’ lacrosse team’s defense of its league championship. They also helped CdM make its first trip to the championship game of the U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section Orange County playoffs.

The Lehigh University-bound Molnar rallied the Sea Kings in the semifinals, recording four goals and three assists in a 16-7 victory against Santa Margarita.

Satossky picked up key ground balls.

CdM finished 20-2 and ranked No. 5 in the state by LaxPower.com.

Other Sea Kings recognized on the first team were senior goalie Andrew Noto, junior defender J.D. Abbott, senior midfielders Casey Bush and Michael Danova, and junior attacker Ryan Mix and senior attacker Dave Kidushim.

Four Sea Kings honored

Ryan Peyton highlights four Corona del Mar High boys’ tennis players named first-team All-Pacific Coast League after the junior finished runner-up in the league singles tournament.

The three other Sea Kings selected were senior Parker Rhodes, junior Matt Fisher and sophomore Shane Korber.

CdM (17-5) placed second in league and advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs.

Peyton, along with Rhodes, reached the section individual tournament. Peyton played singles, while Rhoades played doubles.

John Huang of University High was the Pacific Coast League MVP.
