Work chosen for Senate competition

“Huntington Beach Tribute,” a painting by Huntington Beach artist Joshua Serafin, has been selected as state Sen. Tom Harman’s entry into the annual Senate Art Competition.

Each state senator selects a winner from their district.

Serafin’s painting is a centennial homage to the city he has called home for 25 years. The 6-by-4-foot oil on canvas contains images of the city’s first wooden pier, oil rigs, fishing, the End Cafe and other Surf City highlights.

The painting will be displayed in the Maddy Lounge, behind the state Senate Chambers in Sacramento.
