Investigators have yet to determine the cause of a blaze that sent 40 Costa Mesa firefighters to a business early Sunday.

Authorities said about 1:08 a.m. Sunday they were called to Power Chip, 986 W. 17th St., Costa Mesa, where smoke was coming from the building.

Firefighters arrived within four minutes, officials said, and a second alarm was issued to bring more.

Seven fire engines, two fire trucks, an urban search-and-rescue vehicle and 40 firefighters attacked the fire from around the building and on top, where emergency personnel had cut a hole in the roof to add ventilation.

It took firefighters 25 minutes to extinguish the flames, officials said.

No one was injured, and the cause and damage are still being looked into, officials said.
