TODAY

?

There should be chest-high waves around south-facing breaks (head-high at times at standouts), but size may drop off in the afternoon. Some short period energy from Hurricane Blanca is expected at breaks able to work a 160 to 170 angle, but size should only be knee- to waist-high, so the southwest ground swell may overshadow any of Blanca’s action. West-facing breaks are looking at continued northwest wind swell in the waist-high range.

FRIDAY

?

The southwest ground swell is expected to back down to waist-to chest-high, and Blanca’s energy should remain knee- to waist-high from 160 to 170 (with 10-second periods). West-facing breaks should see knee- to waist-high wind swell. Winds should be light and variable in the morning with the possibly of a bit of southerly eddy texture, and onshore in the afternoon 8 to 13 mph.

SATURDAY

?

The southwest is expected to drop farther, perhaps waist-high around south-facing breaks but with some chest-high set waves from time to time. West-facing breaks are looking at minimal wind swell with size knee- to waist-high max.

SUNDAY

?

The southern hemisphere is expected to drop farther to waist-high max. Wind swell may pick up to bring waist-high or higher waves to west-facing breaks.
