More than 200 hundred clients were a part of the ‘cut-a-thon’ at Armando – A Joshua Christopher Salon in Newport Beach. This was the first year the Armando salon participated in a ‘Cut for a Cure’ event. The event raised more than $3,500 on July 12 during the five-hour event.

“Everybody is touched by cancer and hosting an event like this is a way to give back to the community,” says Christopher Nunez, owner of the Joshua Christopher Salon in Fullerton and Armando Salon. “I am very blessed to have the most wonderful team and am grateful that they donated their time for this cause.”

The salon provided affordable services, almost 50-80% in discounted prices, on haircuts, deep conditioning, eye brow shaping and hand treatments, and more.

The salons both were the hair and makeup partner for the Circles of Life Fashion Show & Luncheon that the hospital held a few weeks ago.

The Joshua Christopher Salon in Fullerton hosted a similar event June 7 and raised over $4,000. The salon also donated their time at the 2009 St. Joseph Hospital Circles of Life Fashion Show. Cancer patients and survivors that were models in the show, received complimentary make-overs by the salon. The event raised more than $70,000 for the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital.

“We are so grateful to the salon for opening their doors for such an important cause,” said Carmen Morales, co-chair of the Circles of Life Fashion Show at St. Joseph Hospital. “The hospital has built a rare but passionate partnership with the salon.”
