Man robbed by two in Home Depot lot
Police are looking for two men who robbed a man outside the Home Depot on Harbor Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.
About 12:54 p.m., a man was walking out of Costa Mesa’s Home Depot, 2300 Harbor Blvd., when he was approached by a man who offered to help him with his things to his car, said Sgt. Bryan Glass.
Behind this would-be good Samaritan was his accomplice, who approached the shopper from behind and jabbed something in his back, Glass said. He demanded the man’s money and made him lean forward and stole the cash from his back pocket before running away, police said.
Police did not have detailed suspect information on the first man and no information on his accomplice. The victim did not know if the item jabbed in his back was an actual weapon, police said.
