Children get up close with animals

Kids can touch, look and learn about mammals at the Huntington Beach Central Library’s program “Science on the Go.”

Live, preserved and stuffed animals will be on display for children to experience and a former science teacher will give a talk on mammals’ characteristics, environment and impact on humanity and nature, said senior librarian Mary-Pat Gonzalez.

The program is recommended for children 4 and older. Gonzalez said calling in advance is recommended, as the show generally sells out.

The program is at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Tabby Storytime Theater at the Central Library. Tickets are $4 and available at the library.
