EAGLE SCOUT AWARD PRESENTED

Daniel G. Guthorn, 18, of Huntington Beach, has earned the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts of America offers to Scouts, the Eagle Scout Award. He was honored at a special Eagle Scout ceremony on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at SeaCliff Country Club.

A member of Troop 911, Pacifica District of the Orange County Council, Guthorn is one of approximately 4 percent of all Boy Scouts who attain the Eagle rank. To earn Scouting’s highest award, Daniel earned 35 merit badges, served as a leader in his troop, and completed a major community service project.

Daniel’s service project took place at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. Leading 16 Scouts and adults, Daniel refurbished and replaced kiosks, wood, hardware, and signage at two locations in the Ecological Reserve.
