A call to all area poets: The Daily Pilot is holding a poetry contest, with the winner earning a place — his or her poem and credit line — on our front page.

The only requirements are that you be a resident of Newport Beach or Costa Mesa and that the poem be no longer than 30 lines.

Poems will be judged by Editor Brady Rhoades, a published poet, and interim City Editor Michael Miller, a published poet who runs a poetry book press.
