Willow

This pretty white female kitten named Willow was rescued from the county shelter with all eight of her siblings. DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, the founder of Community Animal Network, says that many shelter animals come out sick and have a herpes-based eye infection that that accompanies the common shelter cold.

Willow’s eye looks a little bit funny because she had the worst eye infection, but she can see normally, says the ophthalmologist at Eye Care For Animals in Tustin.

Saving lives is very costly, and the Community Animal Network continues to need your help to continue their work.

The monthly volunteer orientation is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Fashion Island, or you can donate to help them with the veterinary costs for local animals.

Everyone should consider donating “only” to local animal organizations, as funds given to the well-known national groups are not used animals here.

The network is still asking for help with the costs of rescuing back the Newport Harbor High School family’s kittens from the county shelter. It has received $270 of the $480 necessary to buy the kittens.

Mail your checks to Community Animal Network, P.O. Box 8662 Newport Beach, CA, 92658 and memo your check “Shelter Rescue,” nonprofit tax ID 33-0971560.
