Superior Court to start furloughs
Orange County Superior Court will begin monthly furloughs Wednesday when it closes courthouse doors throughout the county to help with the state budget.
Courthouses including the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach will be closed the third Wednesday of every month until the end of the state’s fiscal year, court officials said.
Limited services will be available only through the court’s Central Justice Center in Santa Ana and the Lamoreaux Justice Center in Orange.
The closure is not a holiday; it is still a court day, and all time limits and due dates still apply.
Filings and court payments can still be made through courthouse drop boxes or door slots.
Jurors are not to report to jury duty Wednesday. More information is available by calling (714) 834-3997 or going to www.occourts.org.
