Search narrowed for CdM principal
The search for a new principal at Corona del Mar High School is almost complete.
A pool of about 70 candidates has been reduced to a handful of finalists who will be interviewed by Supt. Jeffrey Hubbard and his cabinet in the coming days, said Newport-Mesa Unified School District spokeswoman Laura Boss.
The district hopes to unveil its preferred candidate publicly at the Aug. 25 school board meeting.
Outgoing Principal Fal Asrani resigned a couple weeks ago to take a job as assistant superintendent of the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, a group of 10 failing Los Angeles schools Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa took control of in an effort to turn them around.
