Water district gets ‘AAA’ credit rating

The Orange County Water District has been assigned a “AAA” credit rating for the second consecutive year by Fitch Ratings, based on the district’s long-term credit quality.

The district is the only water district west of the Mississippi River to have the top-notch rating, making it one of the best financially rated water agencies in the state of California.

Maintaining a high rating saves the district and local water rate payers millions of dollars by allowing the district to borrow money more easily, and at lower interest rates.
