Everything’s cool at Recreation Center

Costa Mesa city officials have set up a cooling center at the Downtown Recreation Center for people without access to air conditioning to get out of the heat.

The cooling center in the multipurpose room at the recreation center at 1860 Anaheim Ave. will be open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies and a high of 88 degrees today in Costa Mesa.

Highs in the mid- to low 80s are forecast for the weekend.
