Missing teen is found on bus, returned home

A 16-year-old teen was found and returned to his home last Thursday, hours after he went missing from his Huntington Beach home.

Jacob Stone, 16, was reported missing at 3:10 p.m. Aug. 20 from the 21800 block of Newland Avenue, near Pacific Coast Highway. Authorities searched for the boy well into the night, police said.

The developmentally disabled teen was found that evening when the Orange County Transit Authority called police, saying workers had discovered the boy on one of their buses in Santa Ana.

Jacob was positively identified by Orange County Sheriff deputies on the bus near Sixth and Flower streets in Santa Ana at 10:20 p.m. Aug. 20.

Police said Jacob was in healthy condition, and there was no further incident when he was taken home.
