Incoming second-grader Miranda Soong was crowned as the 2009 Miss California Princess in the National American Miss Pageant. She will represent California in the national pageant this November.

Miranda took home a $2,600 scholarship after being crowned the queen and winning other titles.

To be crowned the queen, a contestant must have the highest combined scores in four categories: community involvement, interview, personal introduction and stage presentation.

She also won the talent competition with her rendition of “Tomorrow” from “Annie.”

Miranda also won the Most Promising Model title due to her earning the highest scores for modeling and being photogenic.

Miranda also won the Best Thank You Note title for a note she wrote her sponsors.

She also was the only first-grader at her school, Village View Elementary, to receive “Outstanding” in all categories on her report card last year.

Miranda dances at Orange County Dance Center, and is learning gymnastics at Scats.
