It’s all a matter of taste

The 21st annual Taste of Newport will serve up one more day of food and music from noon to 8 p.m. today at Fashion Island.

American Idol Season seven winner David Cook will take the stage at 6 p.m. tonight. Celebrity chef Aaron Song from the Fox reality TV show “Hell’s Kitchen” will give a cooking demonstration at 5:30 p.m. today.

This year’s event also features cooking demonstrations from some of Newport’s top restaurants at the Chef’s Cooking Pavilion at Fashion Island. Chefs Jaques DeQuillien from Pescadou Bistro; Dominico Maurici from Il Farro Cafe; Dennis Brask from Five Crowns; Juan Sanchez from Port and Sam Tila from Royal Thai Cuisine are slated to give cooking demonstrations at the event today. Tickets cost $22 in advance and $25 at the door. Food costs $1 to $7.
