St. Joseph Hospital To Go “Hybrid†For 2009 GALA
ORANGE, Calif—More than 600 guests, including local business leaders, physicians, staff and community supporters, will attend St. Joseph Hospital’s “Celebration 2009!” event on Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Anaheim 777 West Convention Way, Anaheim.
The event is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year in Orange County and will benefit St. Joseph Hospital’s new Hybrid Operating Room and The Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment.
“It’s wonderful to see the support from the community at events like ‘Celebration 2009!’, “ says Dr. Connie Bartlett, Celebration Co-Chair and St. Joseph Hospital physician. “The new hybrid OR will create the optimal setting for cardiologists and surgeons to work, together while our Cancer Center remains one of a few such centers in the nation offering convenient access to the latest in prevention, diagnosis, treatment and clinical trials.”
The St. Joseph Hospital Foundation’s Celebration 2009 event will include a reception, opportunity drawing and silent auction, featuring travel packages, electronics, sporting packages and more. In addition, art created by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, is also a highlight of the auction. The program and four- course dinner will be accompanied by live entertainment, provided by a variety of musical guests and produced by Dwight Kennedy Music and EventWorks.
Along with the dinner and entertainment, the Spirit of St. Joseph Award will be presented to two distinguished couples. Dr. Michael and Jean Abdalla and Dr. James A. and Marilyn Padova will receive the award that has been given to individuals who represent the “spirit” of St. Joseph by being aware of the needs of others, sharing their personal resources with those in need and demonstrating a long-term commitment to the hospital and its values.
The St. Joseph Hospital Heart and Vascular Center’s new hybrid O.R. is expected to be operational in fall 2009 and the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment is one of the first centers of its kind in Orange County. All auction proceeds benefit Todos’ $1.5 million dollar pledge to the development to the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital. Tickets are $350 per person and $3,500 per table, for more information visit sjo.org.
