Children get chance at plein air painting

Rainey Fine Art Gallery, 515 Balboa Blvd., will host two demonstrations on plein air painting by local artist Jeff Sewell this week.

The gallery will offer a demonstration for adults 6 to 8 tonight and a class for fourth- through sixth-graders from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be wine and cheese available on the patio for adults during both classes. The gallery will give canvases to each of the young artists who attend the children’s demonstration. A raffle will be held for kids, including paints, brushes and canvas.
