Sonora School Book Drive

Sonora Elementary School is hosting a “Fall Children’s Book Event” in late October. We are asking our community to donate new or gently used children’s books for our event so that we may provide an additional opportunity to put books in the hands of our students. Sonora students will bring their new or gently used children’s books into the multi-purpose room and receive a ticket for each book. At the end of October the used books will be put out on tables and students will come through and select books to take home. The number of tickets that students receive will be the number of books they can choose at the event.

We encourage community members to donate age appropriate books for our event as well. Sonora students are in grades Pre-K-6th. Junior Great Books, Harry Potter Series, Andrew Clements, Junior Classics, or any books from the following link are greatly appreciated: www.lbschools.net/Parents/pdf/California%20Reading%20List.pdf

Sonora Elementary is also looking for volunteers to work in classrooms and/or to read with students who need additional reading practice.
