More than $2.5 million has been tallied to date following the 2009 Susan G. Komen Orange County Race for the Cure in Newport Beach.

More than 30,000 people turned out for the event Sunday, at which breast cancer survivors and their supporters ran, walked and volunteered to help find a cure for breast cancer.

More than 24,000 people registered to participate in the race itself, 1,700 of whom were breast cancer survivors.
