CORONA DEL MAR — Melissa Matsuoka and Katelyn Nguyen both won two singles matches before being substituted out to lead the Sea Kings, ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division I, during the nonleague match Tuesday.

Peninsula entered ranked No. 7 in Division I, yet CdM (5-1) built a 12-0 lead after two rounds.

In doubles Hailey Hogan returned to action after missing a week with the flu, she teamed up with Kalika Slevcove and won, 6-0, 6-2

COSTA MESA — Kendra Fisher and Laurel Hinson both swept in singles to lead the Eagles in their Orange Coast League opener Tuesday at Costa Mesa.

Hinson, the No. 2 singles player, dropped just one game, while Fisher, the No. 1, allowed only two.

The No. 1 doubles team of Misha Brown and Erin O’Neil swept for Estancia (4-5, 1-0 in league)

FULLERTON — The Sailors’ doubles teams of Christina Young and Ricki Archi, along with Alex Aiello and Riley Mathies each swept in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Blake Bakkila, Newport Harbor’s No. 3 singles player, beat Troy’s No. 1 singles player, Victoria Vo, 6-1.

The Sailors (4-3) play at Woodbridge today.

COSTA MESA — Senior Morgan Moody shot a four-over-par 39 for the Sailors in a Sunset League match on the Mesa Linda course at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club Tuesday, helping Newport Harbor remain undefeated.

The Sailors improved to 8-0, 3-0 in league.

Lindsey Hanna had a 41, followed by Lauren Draganza (42), Ali Thomas (42) and Casey Jones (45).

Esther Lee of Los Alamitos earned medalist honors with a 36.

COSTA MESA — Senior Kim Haycraft shot a four-over-par 39, earning medalist honors for the Eagles in an Orange Coast League match on the Mesa Linda course at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club Tuesday.

Estancia (10-2, 3-0 in league) had Ashley Peters shoot a 42, followed by Jeana de Arakal (47), Frankie Thorpe (47) and Cassie Stevenson (49).

IRVINE — Senior Tess Crane finished with a one-under-par 35 in a Pacific Coast League match as the Sea Kings set a new record while playing at Strawberry Farms Golf Club Tuesday.

Coach Mike Starkweather said CdM’s team total topped the program’s previous best by 10 strokes.

Grace Kim shot a 39, followed by Caitlin Shinohara (43), Amanda Johnson (44) and Ashley Varner (45) for the Sea Kings (2-6, 2-2 in league).

Ani Gulugian shot four-under-par 32 to earn medalist honors for University.

NEWPORT BEACH — Zach Lucas recorded five goals, five steals and one assist for the Sailors in a nonleague match Tuesday.

Matt Russell contributed three goals and Blake Kelly added two for Newport Harbor (8-1). Chris Whitelegge made seven saves.
