CHULA VISTA — Briana Fields had 14 kills for the Pirates in their 25-8, 25-19, 25-11 nonconference win Wednesday.

Poerava Gantt had 13 kills and 12 digs, Kimya Jafroudi had 25 assists and Nikki Osuna contributed 13 digs for OCC (6-0), which opens Orange Empire Conference play at Saddleback Saturday at 6 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Freshman William Munoz scored two late goals for the Pirates in an Orange Empire Conference opener Tuesday.

Munoz, a Newport Harbor High graduate, scored in the 85th and 86th minutes.

OCC (4-4, 1-0 in conference) plays at Cypress Friday at 3 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Freshman Kallie Ryker recorded three goals in the Pirates’ Orange Empire Conference match Tuesday.

Ayla Medina, a Costa Mesa High graduate, assisted on one of the goals for OCC (7-2, 3-2 in conference).

El CAJON — Freshman Amanda Couch recorded a hat trick to help the Lions claim the Golden State Athletic Conference road contest Wednesday.

Junior Karri Currier, who now shares the team lead with Couch with four goals, opened the scoring with an assist from Couch.

Janice Tizon also scored for the winners (6-1, 1-1 in conference), who posted a 20-9 advantage in shots.

San Diego Christian falls to 2-5-1, 0-2.
