The Newport Beach Public Library Foundation will host an evening with Allegra Huston, stepdaughter of filmmaker John Huston, on Tuesday at the Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. Huston will speak about her new book, “Love Child: A Memoir of Family Lost and Found.”

She is the daughter of ballerina Ricki Soma and British historian John Julius Norwich, but primarily was raised by Huston, her mother’s estranged husband. Allegra Huston grew up with actress Anjelica Huston and writer-actor Danny Huston.

The lecture and question-and-answer session will be at 7 p.m., followed by an 8 p.m. book signing. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
