SANTA ANA — Charlotte Skjonsby shot 52 on the par-36, lower than the Sea Kings’ sixth player to help the Sailors avoid their first loss in a nonleague match Wednesday at Santa Ana Country Club.

Lindsey Hanna (43) shot the low for the Sailors (15-0), while Ali Thomas and Morgan Moody both carded a 44. Casey Jones (45) and Lauren Draganza (46).

CdM’s Ashley Varner shot 41 to earn medalist honors, while Tess Crane (42), Grace Kim (44), Amanda Johnson (46) and Emily Turner (49) also scored for the Sea Kings (11-7).

It was the Sea Kings’ third tie of the season and they have lost all three on the sixth player’s score.

Hyebin Hong and Lisa Chan were out with the flu, CdM Coach Mike Starkweather said.

The teams will play again Wednesday at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.

COSTA MESA — Ashley Peters shot three-under-par 31 to earn medalist honors for the Eagles in the Golden West League match at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club’s Mesa Linda Course Wednesday.

Kim Haycraft and Nicole Irigoyen both shot 36, while Cassie Stevenson (41) and Frankie Thorpe (45) also scored for Estancia (15-2, 7-0 in league).

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Claire Ham had 10 kills to help lead the Sea Kings to a 25-6, 25-16, 25-15 Pacific Coast League win Wednesday.

Madie Smith had 21 assists, Britton Taylor two solo blocks and Sydney Brombal five aces for CdM (13-3, 4-0 in league).

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior team captain Dominique Moore swept at No. 1 singles, dropping just game for the Lightning in the Academy League match Wednesday.

Sophomore Ava Soleimany won twice at No. 2 singles for Sage Hill (9-6, 5-1 in league).

IRVINE — Chase Watson scored three goals for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Wednesday.

Max Bergeson and Michael Liao added two goals each for CdM (13-3, 2-0 in league). Bergeson also had four steals, as did Blake Terry. Goalies Isle Anderson (five saves) and Bruce Bearer (four saves) also contributed on defense.

NEWPORT HARBOR — Blake Kelly had five goals, three steals and two assists for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Wednesday.

Farrel South had three goals, three steals and an assist for Newport (13-3, 2-0 in league).
