The skies were threatening, but no rain fell on the Huntington Beach High girls’ field hockey team during its home league game Tuesday afternoon against Edison.

It might not have mattered with as hot as the Oilers have been playing.

Corinne Clegg scored five minutes into the second half, assisted by Taryn Rescigno, as the Oilers edged the Chargers, 1-0.

Huntington Beach threatened often in the game with six penalty short corners, compared to two for Edison.
