A pair of Laguna Beach AYSO (Region 86) boys’ 12-and-Under teams, Team Gold and Team Green, went head-to-head Saturday on a sunny afternoon at Top of the World Elementary School in Laguna Beach. A total of eight goals were scored in the game, with nearly all of the goals scored by Team Gold which came away with a commanding, 7-1 victory. Team Gold’s offense was led by Tyler Alter, Chandler Ebrahimi, Dylan Wolf and Max Morgan.

The goal of the game was a real beauty. Ebrahimi took a pass on the right wing where he made a beautiful cross that went over the head of the Team Green goalie, right to Morgan who smacked in the goal without allowing the ball to hit the ground. It was the most fluid play of the day and it created a look of shock on the faces of spectators on both sides of the field.

“[The win] felt great,” Team Gold Coach Frank Ebrahimi said. “They did a good job after working hard in practice. We have to work on our passing a little more, but they played great today.”

Team Green’s loan goal was scored by Jesse French who played well on the wing.

For Team Gold, Chandler Ebrahimi had two goals and an assist, Alter posted two goals, Wolf scored once and Donte Madrigal scored a goal following a penalty kick.

As much as Team Gold dominated the game, there were some serious signs of talent being shown by Team Green at times. Unfortunately, Team Green couldn’t find the net as consistently as Team Gold. Team Green attempted eight shots with three of them on net. Team Gold had 21 shots with 10 on net.
