IRVINE — Senior Carlos Aguilar scored a goal, then assisted on senior Kevin Santora’s game-winner in the 72nd minute of the Big West Conference match Wednesday at UCI.

The win is the fourth straight for the Anteaters (10-4, 3-2 in conference).

Cal Poly (6-8-1, 4-2) opened the scoring in the 26th minute.

Mustangs’ goalkeeper Patrick McLain stopped an Irving Garcia penalty kick in the 48th minute.

UCI keeper Victor Chinchilla had three saves.

UCI visits UC Davis Saturday at 1 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Sophomore Gabriela Valles converted an assist from Kristin Rice late in the second overtime to lift the host Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference clash Wednesday.

Senior Jillian Foss made three saves to record her seventh shutout of the season, the eighth of the year for the No. 5-ranked Lions (11-1-1, 5-1-1 in conference).

No. 22-ranked Point Loma fell to 9-4-1, 4-4.

COSTA MESA — Michael Baba had three goals and two assists to pace the host Pirates in the Orange Empire game Wednesday.

Adam Thomas had three goals and one assist for the winners (14-6, 3-1 in conference), ranked No. 10 in the state.

Kyle Thorsness and Adam Smith had two goals apiece for OCC, which trailed, 6-3, at halftime.

No. 7-ranked Fullerton is 11-4, 1-3.

COSTA MESA — Ashley Rendon’s third goal gave the Pirates a 12-11 lead with 3:17 left, but the visiting Hornets rallied in the Orange Empire Conference contest Wednesday.

Mary Jane Cooney had three goals and an assist, while Rendon chipped in three assists for the Pirates (17-8, 3-2 in conference), ranked No. 5 in the state.

OCC scored on just three of 11 six-on-five opportunities.
