Teacher accused of sexual battery
A Huntington Beach man who teaches at a Cypress preparatory school was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of having sexual contact with a female student.
Christopher John Ontiveros, who teaches Advanced Placement history at Oxford Academy, was booked on suspicion of assault with intent to commit a felony, sexual battery, sending harmful matter to a minor with intent to seduce, contact with a minor to commit specific offense and child annoyance. Sgt. Tom Bruce of the Cypress Police Department said Ontiveros was out on $100,000 bail and scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 6 at the West Justice Center in Westminster.
As of Thursday afternoon, no message was posted about Ontiveros’ arrest on Oxford Academy’s website. Bruce said the Orange County District Attorney had not yet charged Ontiveros with a crime.
