Police expand their online presence

Newport Beach police continue to find new ways to connect with the community. The police department now has Twitter and Facebook pages.

Police officials said the sites will help the department communicate directly with the public and provide up-to-date information, including crime alerts for specific neighborhoods. The pages will have updated crime statistics, educational videos and suspect information as it is released, said Sgt. Evan Sailor.

If you wish to connect with the police department, start by going to www.nbpd.org and clicking on the “Community Connect” icon on the left side of the page.

There you will find links to the department’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

Or go directly to www.facebook.com/NewportBeachPolice or www.twitter.com/NewportBeachPD.
