Use of fairgrounds could be on ballot
Costa Mesa City Atty. Kimberly Hall Barlow will present a report at tonight’s City Council meeting on whether the city can lock down the current use of the Orange County Fairgrounds by placing the issue on the June 2010 ballot.
If the city council decides to put the issue up for a referendum in June, it must do so no later than Feb. 16. A ballot initiative would cost the city an estimated $112,267 to $136,794, according to a city staff report.
Tonight’s council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will take place at 77 Fair Dr.
