League, autism center host expert

The Assistance League of Newport-Mesa is partnering with the Center for Autism and Related Disorders to present a free, communitywide educational event on autism and related developmental disabilities featuring renowned autism expert Jeff Bradstreet from 6 to 8:30 tonight at the Assistance League’s facilities at 2220 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.

The event is geared toward parents of children with developmental disabilities, as well as caregivers, educators and practitioners.

Researcher Doreen Granpeesheh also will speak at the event.

“Autism has reached epidemic proportions, and too many families have been touched by it. There is a great need for all parents to learn more about the research being done, the availability of treatment and to know where to turn to get the help,” Assistance League of Newport- Mesa President-elect Marie-France Lefebvre said in a release.
