October for Toastmasters

October might be the month of spooks and spirits, but in Huntington Beach, it is Toastmasters month.

Mayor Keith Bohr proclaimed October Toastmasters month Aug. 26 to celebrate the organization’s 85 years of service.

Toastmasters is an international organization that helps its members learn communication and leadership skills.

The organization has more than 200,000 members in more than 90 countries.

The Toastmasters’ Advanced Leaders Training group meets every second and third Wednesday at Carrows on Magnolia Street and Warner Avenue.

Guests are welcome.
