Man held on $45,000 warrant

A homeless man was arrested at 1:25 p.m. Monday in Heisler Park after police discovered a $45,000 warrant for his arrest, Lt. Jason Kravetz said. The warrants were for alleged drunk driving, grand theft and assault with a deadly weapon.

Alexander Anderson Harris, 60, was held on bail in the Orange County Jail, according to jail records.

Couple accused of skipping out on bill

A man and woman are suspected of skipping out on $1,220 owed to a local hotel in the 800 block of South Coast Highway, Kravetz said. The couple checked into the hotel and stayed for a number of days, paying part of their bill in cash. They disappeared from the hotel about Nov. 4 without checking out or paying the remainder of their bill. Police investigators are following up on the case.

Man accused of having stolen license

A 25-year-old San Juan Capistrano man was arrested at 8:47 p.m. Sunday after police stopped him for a traffic violation and allegedly found a stolen wallet and driver’s license in his possession, Kravetz said.

Marco Antonio Velasquez was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and driving on a suspended driver’s license. Velasquez was accused of possessing a wallet and driver’s license of a man in San Clemente who reported his wallet stolen last year. He was held on $20,000 bail, according to police records.
