From Daisies to Brownies

Fifteen Girl Scouts from troop No. 404 in Newport Beach celebrated moving up in rank from Daisy Scouts to Brownies on Saturday by holding an induction ceremony on the Balboa Island Bridge.

The scouts are all first-graders at Carden Hall school in Newport Beach.

The girls and their families also helped gather donations on Saturday for Scouting for Food 2009.

The countywide food drive benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
