Travelers advised to arrive early at JWA

John Wayne Airport is advising travelers to arrive at the airport an hour and a half to two hours ahead of their scheduled flight departure this holiday season because of ongoing construction at the airport.

Wednesday and Nov. 29 are expected to be the busiest travel days this month. Airport officials are encouraging passengers to give themselves plenty of time to park, check in with their airline and go through the security screening process during the holiday travel season.

Construction on a new terminal, parking structure and utility plant at John Wayne is underway, which will lead to periodic traffic lane closures at the airport. Speed limits around the airport have been reduced to 15 mph to accommodate the ongoing construction.
