Chase Forrest Newport Mesa Seahawks Junior Midget Player of the Year

During the Jr. Midget Seahawks season, many players stood out, but by far Chase Forrest was the best. With a 135.4 passer rating, 1,451 yards, and nine touchdowns, Chase’s numbers completely surpassed anyone else in the league. Coach Tim Kuzmic has much praise for the quarterback.

“Completing 58% of his pass attempts is amazing when you consider how every team geared up to stop our passing game,” Kuzmic said. “He had more than 100 completions this year averaging more than 13 yards per completion and 7.72 per attempt. These numbers speak volumes about our pass protection up front and the great receivers he had to throw to this year.”

Almost every game the team has played together, all of the other teams have always said, “You have an amazing quarterback!” Chase really has a gift of being able to make perfect throws right in the bread basket of the wide receiver.

Coach Kuzmic explains, “The two biggest things a Quarterback needs to be successful are that has to be extremely accurate throwing the football and he has to make good decisions on where to throw the ball. Chase makes great decisions and is as accurate as a passer can be at any level.”

Without Chase, our team would not be the same. He brings us together and is a real leader on the team.

“Chase is, with no doubt, considered the best QB in our league by his peers, but what many don’t get to see is what a great leader he is for our team. He is an amazing player to coach because he is so smart and he understands very quickly how we want to execute each play. He can see the field as good as any QB can at this level and that allows him to deliver the ball quickly to his receivers. Chase wants to be the best and wants our team to be the best, that attitude helped everybody on the team work harder and get better everyday on the field.”

Having played football with him for many years as his center, I have come to realize that he really trusts everyone on the team especially his offensive line, which is very important for a quarterback in order to succeed. There definitely is no other quarterback I would rather play with.

After all Chase has done, he definitely is the Newport Mesa Jr. Midget Player of the year.
