Pegasus School names new leader

The Pegasus School, a private school in Huntington Beach that serves primarily Newport Beach students, has named a new leader following the death in March of its founder and head of school, Laura Hathaway.

The school serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

The Pegasus School Board of Trustees announced that John Zurn has been selected following a nationwide search. The board’s criteria included strong academic credentials, administrative experience and commitment to the school’s core values.

Zurn will begin at his new post July 1. He has spent 20 years as the head of St. John’s Episcopal School in Maryland.
