NORWALK — Junior Devon Joyner had 22 points and senior Kohl Jones added 20 to pace the Eagles in the semifinals of the John Glenn Tournament Friday at John Glenn High.

CORONA DEL MAR — UCLA-bound senior Reed Williams scored three goals to complete a three-hat-trick week for the Sea Kings in the nonleague contest Friday at CdM.

Williams, a first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division IV forward last season, also scored three goals in a 5-1 nonleague win over Estancia Wednesday, as well as three goals in 5-0 nonleague triumph at Ocean View on Monday.

Williams had 10 goals all of last season.

Freshman Jack McBean had three assists Friday for CdM (3-0), which visits Sage Hill Wednesday at 5 p.m.

NEWPORT COAST — Sophomore Jorge Sanchez had two goals and one assist to pace the visiting Mustangs in the nonleague game Friday.

Jose Faboreno had one goal and one assist, while Dong-gi Shin and Rodolfo Lara also added goals for the Mustangs (3-0).

Sage Hill (0-3) had goals from Taylor Ross and Sky Stearns.

Costa Mesa plays at Bolsa Grande on Wednesday.

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Margot Money scored two goals for the Sea Kings in their nonleague season opener at home Friday.

Pippa Saunders, Claire Eadington and Cassidy Papa also scored for the hosts, who led, 2-1, after the first period, but were outscored, 4-2, in the second and third quarters.

FULLERTON — Costa Mesa High earned a pair of consolation-bracket victories Friday at Fullerton High to advance to today’s 13th-place semifinal at Valencia High.

Senior Hannah Speer had seven goals to lead a 13-6 win over Fullerton.

Speer had five goals and three steals in a 10-3 win over University of San Diego High.

Ashley DeMarzo had eight assists in the two games for the Mustangs (3-2).

Danielle Bowen had seven saves and one assist against University and her five saves against Fullerton included stopping a penalty shot.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Northwood 49,

Newport Harbor 24

IRVINE — Mandy Legault had eight points for the Sailors in a championship semifinal of the Corona del Mar tournament Friday at Northwood High.

Newport Harbor (2-1) will meet Estancia in the third-place game tonight at 7 at Northwood.

Northwood advanced to face CdM tonight for the title, also at Northwood.
