COSTA MESA — Senior Jocelyn Martinez and sophomore Heather Flores scored a goal each for the Eagles in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Junior Jackie Frieberger had an assist for Estancia (1-1-1). Senior Ally Wallace and junior Helena Secrest split goalkeeping duties with each recording three saves in their shutout.

The Eagles play host to El Dorado Thursday.

NEWPORT COAST — Goalkeepers Alexa Thomas and Paige Krueger had three saves each for the Lightning in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Senior team captain Jackie Dion opened the scoring for Sage Hill (2-3-1) with an unassisted goal from 18 yards out in the 21st minute. In the 56th minute, Noosha Deravi scored on an assist from Sophia Witte.

Rannah Dabiri closed the scoring in the 63 minute on a shot from 20 yards out after getting the assist from senior team captain Jordan Team.

Sage Hill will play host to Los Amigos today at 3:15 p.m.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Paramount 5

PARAMOUNT — Hannah Speer scored seven goals for the Mustangs in the nonleague game Tuesday at Paramount Park.

Speer also had nine steals and one field block, while Ashley DeMarzo had four goals and two steals. DeMarzo also drew three exclusions. Sydney Rosello scored three goals for Costa Mesa (5-3).

Heather Kipp, Taylor Ives and Nicole Tfaye provided solid defense, at one point holding Paramount scoreless for 19 minutes, 22 seconds.

The Mustangs play at El Modena today at 3:15 p.m.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Newport Harbor 40

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Ethan Ayres scored 19 points for the Sailors in the nonleague game Tuesday.

Senior Austin Bagby added seven points for At Newport Harbor (4-2).

The Sailors play at San Juan Hills Friday at 7 p.m.

IRVINE — Junior guard Mark Loper scored 14 points for the Lightning in the four-team Gelman Classic at Tarbut V’Torah Tuesday.

Senior Frank Shapiro had 13 points, while senior Kevin Schaefer and junior TJ Danner added 11 points each for Sage Hill (2-1), which will face Santa Ana Valley today.

NEWPORT COAST — Hannah Jeffrey had a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Lightning in the nonleague game Tuesday.

The Lightning (2-1) will play at Costa Mesa Monday at 7 p.m.
