AARP driver safety course set
The Susi Q Senior Center is offering a two-day AARP driver safety course.
The course will take place from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 at the center, 380 Third St. The fee is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. For more information, call (949) 497-2441.
Sign up for free tax preparation help
The Susi Q Senior Center is offering free tax preparation to the community. IRS-trained volunteers will be available to give basic tax help to those with middle to low incomes who file simple tax returns, with special attention given to those 60 and older.
Tax assistance is offered at 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays Feb. 3 through April 15. Call (949) 497-2441 to schedule an appointment.
Utilities Commission officer to speak
A California Public Utilities Commission Outreach Officer will provide consumer information and education from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Susi Q.
Topics will include: how to take charge of your utility bills; slamming and cramming (with regards to Telemarketer’s tactics); how to avoid telemarketers; household goods movers (how to avoid being ripped off); and information pertaining to the new “Smart Electric Meters” which every Southern California Edison customer will soon receive.

Jacqi Bowe show is today
Jacqi Bowe sings, dances and delivers comedy in a variety show featuring Broadway show tunes, jazz, ballet and tap dance, plus ukulele songs, from 1 to 2 p.m. today (new time) in the Susi Q Senior Center, 380 Third St. Cost is $5. To reserve a seat, call (949) 497-2441.
Holiday floral class Monday
Debby Neville will teach a holiday floral arrangement class where participants will learn to design an arrangement they can take home and enjoy for the holidays.
The class will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Susi Q Senior Center.
Cost is $45, which includes all material fees.
