Newport-Mesa Tar Heels 42 Irvine Mavericks 34 - The Tar Heels improved to (2-0) on the season with a tough home win on Sunday over the Mavs. Charlie Evans (8 points), Cole Norris (7 points / 7 rebounds) and Riley Gaddis (6 points / 7 rebounds) led the balanced scoring of the Tar Heels while Logan Miller, Max Kline and Max Stanley ran the offense and played stellar defense. Grady Kimme, Hagen Truninger, Brett Greenlee and Kevin Fults all played key minutes in the victory.
