Several large outdoor events scheduled for local parks were rained out on Saturday.

The fourth-annual Great Serum Run dog sled race slated for Saturday morning at Fairview Park was canceled because city officials were concerned about what damage the rain and dogs would do to newly restored trails in the park.

The annual Snow Land event, which brings large drifts of manufactured snow to Costa Mesa for local children to play in also was canceled. The event was scheduled for Saturday at Balearic Park.
