Two arrested on suspicion of robbery
Police arrested two men suspected of robbing a restaurant Sunday night.
William Trapp, 41, a Hawaiian Gardens resident, and Mark Frank Delgadillo, 39, a Cerritos resident, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, use of a firearm during a robbery, false imprisonment and other offenses, officials said.
Armed men stole money from Valentino’s Pizza and its employees at about 9:45 p.m. and fled in a gray Scion XB. Near Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, an officer spotted a vehicle matching a description of the robbers’ and pulled it over in Sunset Beach, said Lt. Russell Reinhart.
When the vehicle stopped, one of the men got out of the car and started running between houses. A police helicopter tracked him and led the officers to where the man was hiding next to a residence, Reinhart said.
Both men were arrested, and a loaded gun and money matching the amount stolen were recovered during the arrest, Reinhart said.
