SAN JOSE — Sophomore forward Eric Wise scored a career-high 31 points for the Anteaters in the nonconference road game Monday.

Wise was 13 of 21 from the field and added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Senior guard Michael Hunter had 19 points for UCI, hitting five of 12 three-point attempts.

UCI (6-6) made just five of 13 free-throw attempts.

The Anteaters open Big West Conference play at home Saturday at 7 p.m. against UC Santa Barbara.

VENTURA — Freshman Alyssa Hansen had 10 points for the Pirates in the opening round of the Ventura Tournament Monday at Ventura College.

Sophomore Rebecca Murray had nine points and freshman Jessica Vingerelli had eight for OCC (9-6).

OCC plays Los Angeles Valley today at 1 p.m.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Sophomore Mikah Maly-Karros had nine points and 10 rebounds and junior Jade Smith-Williams had 13 points, four rebounds and two assists for the Anteaters in the nonconference road game Sunday.

UCI (3-9) opens Big West Conference play Saturday at 2 p.m. at UCSB.
