MESA CONSOLIDATED WATER DISTRICT RECEIVES DISTRICT OF DISTINCTION ACCREDITATION

Mesa Consolidated Water District’s (Mesa) Board of Directors is proud to announce that Mesa has received the District of Distinction Award (Award) from the Special District Leadership Foundation.

This is the second time Mesa has received the award. In 2007 Mesa became the fourth special district to receive this notable recognition. The Award is one of the most prestigious in local government in the state of California. This accreditation validates Mesa’s commitment to good governance and to ethical and sound operating practices. The accreditation criteria included the submission of financial audits, current and relevant policies and procedures, and proof of training completed by each of the district’s Board of Directors and executive management staff in ethics, governance, and leadership.

“The accreditation shows that Mesa understands and respects the responsibilities inherent to providing essential public services,” said Shawn Dewane, Mesa’s Board President. “The Board is extremely proud of this outstanding achievement.”

The Special District Leadership Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to provide educational opportunities to special district and local government elected and appointed officials and employees to enhance services provided to the public by special district in California.
