Waldron, a 5-foot-9, 160-pounder, had 56 receptions for 836 yards and six touchdowns in 2009. The two-time Newport-Mesa Dream Team performer also stood out at safety for Coach Jeremy Osso’s squad, which finished second in the Orange Coast League as the two-time defending league champion.

He also had stints at quarterback during his three-year varsity career, in which he earned all-league honors each season. He was a first-team all-league pick the last two seasons, after earning second-team all-league laurels as a sophomore.

A three-sport star, Waldron has also earned all-league and Dream Team honors in baseball. He is currently playing for the Mustangs’ boys’ basketball team.

The 6-2, 250-pound Whitlock was recognized as an offensive linemen. He played center in 2009, after starting the previous two seasons at left guard. He was also a standout on the defensive line, earning Orange Coast League Lineman of the Year honors in 2009.

Whitlock had 27 pancake blocks (knocking an opponent off their feet) to help Costa Mesa advance to the first round of the Southern Division playoffs.

Whitlock was a first-team all-league honoree as a sophomore. He earned second-team all-league recognition as a junior.
