CERRITOS — Sophomore guard Ava Soleimany finished with 13 points and seven steals in the Lightning’s Academy League game Tuesday.

Hana Hunt contributed 14 rebounds and six points for Sage Hill (7-5, 2-1 in league).

Maggie Danner had 11 rebounds, six points, four steals and three blocks.

CORONA DEL MAR — Gabby Rapp scored 12 points, hitting two three-pointers, for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Tuesday.

CdM (10-8, 0-2 in league) will play host to University Friday at 5:30 p.m.

ANAHEIM — Junior center Alex Morton had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Sailors in a Sunset League game Tuesday.

Kasey Thompson finished with 11 points, five rebounds and three blocks for Newport Harbor (9-9, 1-1 in league).

Irvine 48

CORONA DEL MAR — Clayton Ragsdale and Danny Cheek scored 19 points each for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Tuesday.

Parker Stone had 12 points and Austin Quon added 10 points for CdM (13-3, 2-0 in league). Stone also grabbed nine rebounds, while Ragsdale and Ramon Mejia had five assists each.

The Sea Kings will play host to University Friday at 7 p.m.

Whitney 47, Sage Hill 40

CERRITOS — Junior point guard Mark Loper finished with 13 points and four assists Tuesday, but the Lightning lost their first Academy League game.

Kevin Schaefer and Frank Shapiro each had nine points for Sage Hill (12-4, 2-1 in league), which is ranked No. 15 in the CIF Southern Section Division V-AA coaches’ poll.

NEWPORT COAST — Maddie Culberson scored three goals and Megan Culberson recorded three assists for the Lightning in the Academy League match Tuesday.

Noosha Deravi scored two goals, while Sophia Witte, Dina Alzuri and Alexa Tebult had one goal each. Witte, Lindsey Skolnik and Alexa Thomas contributed one assist each.

Goalie Hannah MacLeod had three saves in her shutout.

Sage Hill plays at Brethren Christian Friday at 3:15 p.m.

ANAHEIM — Senior Elizabeth Eddy scored the equalizer in the 60th minute for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Tuesday.

Sophomore Shanay Fischer provided the assist. Goalie Emily Brown recorded 10 saves for Newport Harbor (3-5-5, 1-1-0)

Shannon Boler also stood out on defense. Eddy, senior Briana Schwartz and junior Megan Khademi combined for 10 of the Sailors’ 16 shots.

Newport will play host to Los Alamitos Thursday at 5 p.m.

Godinez 1, Costa Mesa 0

SANTA ANA — The Mustangs allowed a goal in the 25th minute in the Orange Coast League game Tuesday.

Mesa (7-7-3, 0-1-1 in league) plays Calvary Chapel at Estancia Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
