For the second year in a row, employees of Costa Mesa-based Experian have volunteered their time and energy through the Heart of Experian program to assist the Orange County Food Bank. During four volunteer dates over two years, more than 100 Experian employees have packed more than 3,000 boxes of food for low-income seniors and families.

“We are pleased that we can continue to assist the Orange County Food Bank with its vital mission to help those in need,” said Maxine Sweet, Vice President of Public Education at Experian. “Through our Heart of Experian program, our company demonstrates its deep commitment to making an important difference in each of the communities in which we operate and live.”

The Food Bank is housed in a 35,000-square-foot warehouse, which includes a huge commercial refrigerator and freezer capable of handling over 20 truckloads of perishable foods. Nearly 20 million pounds of food are distributed annually. In addition to the 24,000 people that the Food Bank serves directly each month, it provides food and personal care items to 300 non-profit service organizations, such as social service agencies, churches, shelters, soup kitchens and senior centers. These organizations serve the homeless, disabled persons, seniors on fixed incomes, the unemployed and the working poor.
