SANTA BARBARA — Margot Money and Pippa Saunders each scored twice Friday, helping Corona del Mar High advance to the semifinals after a 5-3 quarterfinal victory against Laguna Beach.

The Sea Kings (11-4) today at 11:10 a.m. will face Dos Pueblos, ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

Alex Musselman made six saves for CdM, which has won eight of its last nine contests. The Sea Kings’ only loss during the stretch was a 6-4 one to Dos Pueblos in the semifinals of the Holiday Cup on Dec. 30.

In the opener at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions on Friday, CdM beat Rosary, 6-4. Cassidy Papa had three goals and Maddie Schwartz, Ally McCormick and Saunders each had a goal.

SANTA BARBARA — The Sailors easily advanced out of the first two rounds, outscoring the opposition, 26-11, Friday.

Newport Harbor (12-1), ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, plays Los Alamitos today at 12:15 p.m. The rivals last squared off last week, with the Sailors picking up a 6-5 overtime victory in a Sunset League opener.

If Newport Harbor gets past the Griffins again, it will be without Kaleigh Gilchrist in the final. The USC-bound senior has a flight scheduled to New Zealand, where she will compete with the USA surf team at the Quiksilver International Surfing Assn. World Junior Championships from Jan. 18-28.

Gilchrist scored five goals in the Tars’ 12-5 win against Riverside Poly. She had five goals in Newport Harbor’s 14-6 win against Palos Verdes .

SANTA ANA — Senior Kohl Jones scored 10 for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Friday.

Senior Wes Shaw added 10 points and junior Davon Joyner had eight points for Estancia (11-19, 1-1 in league).

CORONA DEL MAR — Junior Ramon Mejia had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Friday night.

Junior Danny Cheek had 17 points, while junior Clayton Ragsdale contributed 11 points, 10 assist and six steals for CdM (14-3, 3-0 in league).

SANTA ANA — Junior guard Matt Dimson finished with 14 points and four three-pointers in the Mustangs’ Orange Coast League game Friday.

Andrew Albers had 13 points for Costa Mesa (2-18, 0-3 in league)

Brian Waldron had seven assists.

LOS ALAMITOS — Senior Austin Bagby scored 16 points for the Sailors in their Sunset League game Friday night.

Junior Cody Caldwell had nine points for Newport Harbor (10-9, 2-1 in league).

NEWPORT COAST — Senior Kevin Schaefer scored 16 points for the Lightning in their Academy League game Friday night.

Junior point guard Mark Loper had 10 points for Sage Hill (12-5, 2-2 in league).

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Rannah Dabiri and Sophia Witte each had two goals and one assist for the Lightning in the Academy League match Friday.

Maddie Culberson and Dina Aluzri scored one goal each. Maddie Culberson had three assists, while Molly Worwerck contributed one assist for Sage Hill (7-5-2, 4-0 in league).

Hannah MacLeod had three saves in her shutout for the Lightning, who scored three goals in each half.

LOS ALAMITOS — Goalie Kyle Evans had two saves for the Sailors in the Sunset League match Friday.

Newport Harbor (1-3-0 in league) had five shots, while Los Al had three.
